Have you ever thought about trying one of those meal prep/planning services?
Personally, I feel like I am being targeted online with ads (which I feel like we all know truly is a real reality lol). One of the ads was a company called Freshly, a meal service that provides already prepared meals.
Freshly is a weekly service (you have the ability to cancel/postpone as you see fit), you get a chosen date for delivery and can choose how many meals you want. Their food philosophies include: less sugar, less processed ingredients and more nutrients. Along with delivering balanced, flavorful, meals that are better for you that include complex carbs, quality proteins and healthy fats.
Personally, I chose 6 meals, (3 different meals two of each). With my food allergies (dairy, shrimp and gluten), I found it helpful to be able to search for meals with those restrictions in place.
Upon arrival, the box was awesomely insulated. The entire inside of the box was insulated along with multiple layers or large ice blocks that kept the meals cold well after I got home from work that evening.
Each meal was well labeled including all of the macros, ingredients and cooking times. The cooking times were spot on in my opinion, the food was hot and the ingredients remained tender.
Personally, I ordered:
SAVORY-SWEET CHICKEN TERIYAKI with Brown Rice & Veggies (7.5/10)
ALMOND-GINGER CHICKEN BOWL (8-9/10)
K-TOWN PORK & PURPLE STICKY RICE with Sesame Veggie Stir-Fry (8-8.5/10)
Overall, the meat was very tender, the portions were perfect (almost too much) and had a good variety of options when ordering. The grilled chicken teriyaki could have had more flavor in the sauce. The almond ginger was a solid meal (I am new to ginger so I noticed the taste but not in a bad way). Lastly, the k-town pork was good, the more I ate it, the more I picked up on the spices so it was a bit tangy for my liking.
When you’re a customer they give you a referral option. I am in no way sponsored by this company nor do I get paid for my review. But, when I was ordering my second week of meals they did give me the option to give people $40 off through a personalized link which also gives me $40 off my next order. Here is that link if you choose to order: https://refer.freshly.com/s/gina1734
