At Sweating Together For A Cause, we strive to ignite hope and foster awareness by building transformative community partnerships. Our mission is to empower individuals and groups to create lasting change, cultivating a united and resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we envision a future where collaboration sparks innovation, and every voice is heard and valued. Founded simply from a statement my grandfather shared with me years ago, he said, “Gina, when your needs are met it will be your job to help other people do the same.” Over the years, I have participated in various charity events, assisted on committees and made it my goal that every week I assist at least one person in any way that I can.
Our vision is to become a leader in health and wellness, uniting communities through dynamic events that inspire and empower individuals to prioritize their well-being. We aim to create a vibrant network of local organizations, driving positive change and raising essential funds to support their vital work. Together, we envision a healthier, more connected society where everyone has access to the resources they need to flourish.
In 2023, I had an idea, “What if I could bring together my wellness community and highlight those who are doing the most for those in need…” A simple idea turned into our first event I hosted at Sparkman Wharf where we were able to raise thousands of dollars for the Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa. During that event, we brought together four local studios highlighting trainers who wanted to giveback with over 100 people in attendance.
Natalie from Metropolitan Ministries gave a speech and I’ll never forget what she said, “Gina is one person who had an idea and acted on it. Imagine if every single one of you volunteered at a local organization or acted on your own idea. Just how many people could we positively impact?” Thus, the expansion of Sweating Together For A Cause. Since then I have gone onsite to really experience all that Metropolitan Ministries accomplishes to truly give people back their dignity. As a result of this hard work 92% of the people who they assist do not return to living on the street. Talk about INCREDIBLE!
This year, my focus has been on building partnerships and learning more about local organizations that deserve recognition and support. Throughout this year, I’ve been onsite volunteering, conducting interviews to highlight upcoming events and meeting with other community members to positively impact as many people as possible. When we move somewhere, I believe that it becomes our responsibility to give back to the communities we choose to be a part of and now that is my mission for expanding this organization.
Currently, we are hosting a donation drive for Metropolitan Ministries including their emergency aid drive that directly benefits those in need with items such as hygiene products, sunscreen and more. Also, we are doing a clothing drive focused on all levels.
In October, I am co-sponsoring an event with Manhattan Avenue Boxing Club in support of The Spring Tampa Bay to bring awareness for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Spring provides safe spaces and empowering services for survivors of domestic violence. At this event, women will be able to participate in private boxing and self defense classes while also attending a brunch to build community.
During the month of November, I will be sponsoring Puppy Rescue Yoga in support of Mercy Full Project. Mercy Full Project is an incredible organization founded by Heydi and her husband. Again, two people with an idea they were passionate about who backed it with massive action. Mercy Full Project has saved thousands of animals and raised countless funds to aid in the care of these animals.
No organization or need is too big or too small. We are always looking for ways to get more involved and better support our community.
