The holiday season is here—and with it, all the delicious food, cozy gatherings, and festive treats. 🎄🍪 But here’s the thing: enjoying yourself doesn’t have to come with a side of guilt! 🙌 You can savor every moment without regret by finding that sweet spot of balance—nourishing your body and treating yourself along the way.

Here are 5 simple and quick tips to feel good inside and out this holiday season:

🏃🏻‍♀️Move your body-whether it’s your planned workout for that day or a walk. Move your body because you love it and because it aids your digestion.
🍽️ Eat. Yes EAT. Don’t starve yourself all day thinking you’re saving your calories. Eat throughout the day and enjoy your holiday meal while paying attention to your hunger cues.
💤Prioritize rest & recovery: getting enough rest is crucial for both physical and mental wellness. Sleep helps you feel energized and ready to enjoy every moment to the fullest.
🧊Hydrate. Hydration is key. Grab your favorite emotional support water bottle if you’re like me and make sure you’re drinking water throughout the day.

Sharing in case you need this reminder as well. This was not the year I thought or planned for. At all. At first, it felt disappointing. Then, I went through my camera roll and realized this year wasn’t about me or my goals. It was truly learning to be present in the lives of those I love.

We tend to think of life in terms of big events-promotions, weddings, business deals. But the truth is, it’s the small moments that shape us the most: the quiet conversations, the laughter with friends, the moments of stillness or simply a smile exchanged with a stranger.

These seemingly insignificant seconds add up to something far greater than any single event could ever be. They remind us that life isn’t a race to get to the next big thing, it’s about finding meaning in the here and now.

So today, take a moment to appreciate the little things- the warmth of the sun, the feeling of being present. It’s these thing, fleeting moments that weave the tapestry of our lives.

Plot twist…the best days are still to come ❤️

Honestly, it’s been really getting to me that I can’t workout the way I want. This recovery is taking so much longer than I anticipated. It’s been such a battle to be so uncomfortable in my own skin.

I find myself missing life pre-TBI. Because in life, we glamorize the parts we chose to remember. Reality, life wasn’t that great I was just in shape. My mental health was trash, I was miserable at work & dreaming about doing so much but not taking action.

In the last year, I changed jobs, launched my podcast @theunfilteredtrainer expanded by charity organization @sweatingtogetherforacause to make the biggest impact yet. Became more present in the lives I love & had more opportunity than years passed.

To be accomplished you have to take care of yourself. For me, this year that meant less workouts & more time spent focused on TBI recovery. More rest and less social activities. Learning the importance of boundaries & not over extending myself. And learning to work through the mental health challenges that come with having a TBI.

Transformations aren’t linear. They’re not a straight shot to success. Most of the time, when you’re on a wellness journey you’re faced with setbacks and challenges. It truly tests your limits and enables you to realize just how strong you are emotionally, mentally and physically.

Don’t give up just because it doesn’t look the way you expected. Greatness is upon you, release your expectations and persevere no matter the timeline.
