Plot twist…the best days are still to come ❤️

Honestly, it’s been really getting to me that I can’t workout the way I want. This recovery is taking so much longer than I anticipated. It’s been such a battle to be so uncomfortable in my own skin.

I find myself missing life pre-TBI. Because in life, we glamorize the parts we chose to remember. Reality, life wasn’t that great I was just in shape. My mental health was trash, I was miserable at work & dreaming about doing so much but not taking action.

In the last year, I changed jobs, launched my podcast @theunfilteredtrainer expanded by charity organization @sweatingtogetherforacause to make the biggest impact yet. Became more present in the lives I love & had more opportunity than years passed.

To be accomplished you have to take care of yourself. For me, this year that meant less workouts & more time spent focused on TBI recovery. More rest and less social activities. Learning the importance of boundaries & not over extending myself. And learning to work through the mental health challenges that come with having a TBI.

Transformations aren’t linear. They’re not a straight shot to success. Most of the time, when you’re on a wellness journey you’re faced with setbacks and challenges. It truly tests your limits and enables you to realize just how strong you are emotionally, mentally and physically.

Don’t give up just because it doesn’t look the way you expected. Greatness is upon you, release your expectations and persevere no matter the timeline.

It’s hard living with anxiety & depression while at the same time being the kind of person no matter how low they feel...they continue to show up for everyone around them.

l used to wish my mental health issues away.
When in reality, it is that cause for concern for others that enables me to give my heart and soul to everything I do. It’s why my attention to detail is so on point. It’s why everyone is welcome in my world no matter their story or circumstances.

And at the same time, it’s why I never feel satisfied with my accomplishments because I know there is always more work to do. More love & support to give. More changes to be made.

Anxiety is exhausting. If you too know this reality give yourself grace while at the same time know in a world where people don’t care as much as they should. Be grateful to be the kind, compassionate, caring soul that makes others believe that good prevails always.

How I want to remember my home 🙏🏼❤️

I’ve never lived anywhere as long as I’ve lived in Tampa. Tampa has become the closest thing to home.

For a variety of reasons, not everyone could/can evacuate including myself. Skip the judgment & opinions. Just think positive vibes & pray. Pray for the least amount of destruction and to protect everyone. Pray that people have a place to come back to. Pray for this place I call home & everyone who will be effected by Hurricane Milton❤️🙏🏼

Great few days in Chicago visiting @ashley.lewman love seeing her and @marie_bearr thrive in their new home.

Things we did I highly recommend if you visit 👇🏼

Walk everywhereeeeee you get to see everything

@chicago_riverwalk was stunning so many great places to eat. It’s connected by so many bridges so it makes travel easy/

@museumoficecream such a fun time. Your ticket includes all you can eat ice cream throughout each attraction. Would be super fun for kids.

@navypierchicago beautiful views of the city lots of touristy things

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child 10/10 recommend you see it if it’s in your city was so impressed

@360chicago was a cool experience but takes a very long time if you go at night takes 2+ hours

@wrigleyville_chicago if you’re a baseball fan def catch a game. I don’t care for baseball but there’s a lot to do around that area of town. Especially if you’re younger tons of bars and live music.

@cflcruises was such a great way to see the city. Beautiful architecture tour on the water such a great experience. Top recommendation of the trip.

@summerhouserestaurants was a vibe the aesthetic was 10/10

@goddessbaker loved the breakfast sandwich that had hashbrowns and their coffee was delicious

You always have to go to @millenium.park check out the iconic bean, the fountain and the water.

We did hit up @themagmile everything you can imagine for shopping if that’s your jam.

You know I always fly @southwestair love the new planes with the chargers & their staff is always great.

If it wasn’t so cold I could totally live there. Beautiful city, so much to do, so many places to eat. Love the walkability.
